Fix for July Visa Bulletin? PDF Print E-mail
Written by Andrea Olivos-Kah

The American Immigration Lawyers’ Association (AILA) reports of a potential U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (US CIS) announcement aimed to provide a “fix” to the mis-handling of adjustment of status cases received relying on the July Visa Bulletin. That is, US CIS may announce a cure for those who relied on the erroneous reporting of immigrant visa availability for employment-based applicants beginning July 1st. We are not certain whether this will mean that US CIS will now accept those Applications for Adjustment of Status (I-485) that were filed relying on that erroneous July Visa Bulletin, or whether some other remedy will be provided. We will continue to track this issue and will post once we are certain the information is reliable. We do not wish to post rumors, even though we know there are wildly varying reports regarding the contents of that announcement or of future applications to adjust status for employment-based applicants.
